New Elf Cosmetics Items!
I got this awesome Elf package for the month of January. I honestly don’t even remember where I signed up to get this. I probably just saw it and randomly decided to join. Anyways, I get to test out the newest products from Elf. It’s not even required to blog about them, but I figured I would. Why? Well….
Elf cosmetics are super duper cheap. A lot of their stuff is between $1-$3. I think the most expensive thing I’ve seen from them is a knockoff Clarisonic for $14. Thats cheaper than the replacement brushes for the Clarisonic. I haven’t tried it, but I probably should.
This is all the cool stuff I got.
First up is the eyeshadow. You can see the official picture compared to mine.
I actually quite liked this eyeshadow. It isn’t a super dark shadow. It goes on quite light. It is good for a school or work smoky eye. Just enough color so people know you put eyeshadow on.
You can see in my pic how light the shadow is. It looks super light here, but in other pictures it looks right. Just needs some extra touches, such as…
This is their new thick tip eyeliner. I have a very love/hate relationship with eyeliner. I love the way it looks, I hate that I can never put it on right. This eyeliner was actually pretty easy to use. It reminds me of a sharpie.
You can see below how the eyeliner definitely pops. It also pops the darker colors of the eyeshadow. I actually was able to make a straight even-height line. Usually my downfall with eyeliner.
Ignore the thing on my head. I love wearing giant headband things because it keeps my hair from touching my neck.
Next is mascara. Usually I’m a mascara snob and only use expensive mascara. I know, I’m a cheapo but go for the expensive makeup. Go figure.
What I like about this mascara is the wand. You can see that it is shaped weird. The top part is perfect for getting bottom lashes. I have to do my bottom lashes otherwise my eyes look super weird.
Next is the cool sculpting brush. It is shaped perfectly for doing conturing. You can see below that it worked really well. You can use the brush with wet or dry makeup. Thats definitely a plus.
The last of my bag is the gold eyeshadow. I didn’t use it the night I took these pictures and when I did use it I forgot to take pictures. Whoops. It is easy to put on with both small and large brushes.
Here are my beautiful pictures of the final result. Of course I added some of my own makeup, like the foundation, eyebrow powder, ect ect. But I really like the way it looks!
And here is with my glasses on. I like that you can actually see my eyes. That wouldn’t happen if I didn’t put mascara on top and bottom.
And yet another! I was really feeling the selfies that night. Especially since I straightened my hair and everything.
