National Chocolate Day
Honestly, I think it is National Nina gets fat month. Cause today is National Chocolate Day! I am a big fan of chocolate. I don’t understand people who don’t like it.
So what exactly is chocolate? It comes from a seed of the cacao tree. Yes, a seed! But you can’t just eat the seed. It is apparently super bitter. Gross. So to make it sweet, they have to ferment the seeds, dry them, clean them and roast them. Then they take the shell off the seed and inside is the chocolate. They ground it down to make cocoa powder.
There are four types of chocolate:
- Unsweetened baking chocolate – cocoa solids and cocoa butter in varying proportions.
- Sweet chocolate – cocoa solids, cocoa butter or other fat and sugar.
- Milk chocolate – sweet chocolate with milk powder or condensed milk.
- White chocolate – cocoa butter, sugar and milk but no cocoa solids.
I’ve collected the top ten most delicious chocolate recipes. These are pure chocolate – no added caramel, peanut butter, ect. Just chocolate. Click the pictures for the recipe.
