The King and I Dances into the Fox Theater!

I’m super excited to announce that Rodgers & Hammerstein’s The King and I will be performing at the Fox Theater in Detroit May 8th through May 13th!

The King and I is directed by Tony Award winner Bartlett Sher and has won four Tony Awards including Best Revival of a Musical. The New York Times called it “first-rate, sumptuous” and New York Magazine said it is “too beautiful to miss.”

The musical, set in 1860’s Bangkok, tells the tale of the unconventional and tempestuous relationship between the King of Siam and Anna Leonowens, a British schoolteacher, whom the modernist King, in an imperialistic world, brings to Siam to teach his many wives and children.

  1. I am really hoping to see The King and I. I’ve always loved the movie. It would be to win.
It was different seeing Yul Brynner in the role as the king.

I want to see The King & I because my husband and I both absolutely LOVE Broadway musicals & live shows at places like the gorgeous Fox Theatre, everything we have ever seen there has been such a special treat for both of us!
Also, I remember seeing the movie The King & I many decades ago and I loved the movie and my experience so far has been, any movie I have seen and liked or loved, if and when I had the blessing of seeing it as a Broadway show later, every time I have loved it countless times more as a Broadway show and my husband agrees.
This would be such a lovely date night for my sweetiepiepie and me.
    Thank you for the chance.

I want to see this play because my mom saw it when she was pregnant with me in 1962 when it came out. I love the music and I can’t wait to see it here in Detroit ❤️
