How to Find the Deals
Now, there is nothing wrong with doing it that way. But to save a lot more money, you need to make a plan.
There are two ways to find the deals. The first is to figure them out for yourself and the second is to let someone else figure them out for you. I almost never figure out the deals myself.
There are a few sites I use to find the deals, or match-ups as they are called in the coupon community. I like Free Stuff Finder, Meijer Madness, and Deals in the Mitten. These sites work the best for me and make the most sense to me. But there are a ton of other couponing sites and blogs out there. Just search around until you find your favorites.
Other places to find deals is on social media. There are a bazillion Facebook groups for couponing. Unfortunately, there is a ridiculous amount of drama in these groups. I used to be a member of about 100, but now I’m in about ten. Instagram is also a great place for finding deals.
One thing you need to be very aware of is that you wont always get every deal. I go into a store with everything planned and ready and usually leave with 3/4ths of what I wanted. Sometimes even less.
There are a few reasons for this. The main reason is other shoppers. I don’t care where you live, there are other couponers in your area. Where I live, there are a TON of couponers. People beat me all the time. If this happens to you, don’t get mad. Just get a raincheck and do the deal with the item(s) are back in stock.
The other reasons is the store itself. Different regions can have different prices. The deal you saw online may show pop at $1, but at your store it is on sale for $1.25. Or the store you are at doesn’t even carry the item you are looking for.
It’s always annoying when you’re shopping trip doesn’t go your way. Trust me, I know. The best thing to do is just to get a raincheck for the sale. Or just shake it off and know that it will be back on sale again in a month or two.
