How to Back to School Shop at Bed Bath & Beyond
Bed Bath & Beyond tend to be a go to store for dorm supplies. They aren’t always the cheapest, but the stuff is pretty good quality. Plus they have a great selection. They also tend to have that random crap you don’t think of until you see it.
But with their stuff usually being out of my price range, I of course found a way to save money. I wouldn’t call myself stingy if I didn’t. 🙂 So here are some tips for saving some extra money:
- Use a coupon! They always have a 20% off store coupon out.
- They accept manufacture coupons, although it may be hard to find one that will go with the stuff they sell.
- They accept competitor coupons
- You can price match competitors! They even price match Amazon, but only if it is sold and shipped by Amazon
- You kind-of can use a coupon and a price match. They have a weird policy, saying you can only do both if the competitor you are pming from would allow it. So I assume more that it is manager discretion.
Bed Bath & Beyond has a really cool thing right now. You can shop in store, but instead of taking it home, have it sent to the nearest store to your college! That means instead of filling your car up with crap, it is already waiting for you! I think this is a super cool shopping feature that all stores need to do.
BBB has a pretty good selection of bedspreads. I didn’t take pictures of every style and color though. Just one of each type of “dorm” set.
Whatever you buy, don’t forget to get a Twin XL!
This one is reversible! What I like is that the inside is blanket material, so one less thing you need to buy. Or be like me and get another blanket anyways. Because you can’t have too many blankets.
Storage, storage, storage. Where would I be without thee? Somewhere in hell probably. BBB has a great selection of all different types of storage options.
These look awesome! You could use them as a side table.
I’ve been seeing these around lately. They are just cubes, but cool cubes.
I like storage ottomans. Functional and storag..al?
These are the types of storage that you hang up. I used a couple while I was in a dorm. You can put pretty much anything in them.
You may or may not have room for extra furniture. These chairs are actually pretty comfortable.
While this isn’t really furniture, they are comfortable. They are great for lounging on your bed. Or even on the floor.
I love large fans/heaters like this!
You will probably need a lamp. I have a lamp a lot like this blue one, with the storage tray in it.
You WILL need hangers. That is all.
And…. cheapo hangers for us stingy college students.
Do you need this? No. But it is so cool! And tiny!
This goes along with the steamer. You don’t need it, but you will buy it. I love my Keurig btw.
Another must have. You will get to your dorm and there will be one plug available to you. Trust me on this.
You will need your own towels. I suggest getting at least five, so you can reuse them and still go awhile without doing laundry. No more mommy and daddy cleaning your towels anymore.
If you are going to be sharing, make sure only one of you buys a bathroom trash can. You don’t need four.
This is random crap is on a rounder in the front. It is all junk, relatively useless, and you will buy it all.
More art! Not badly priced either.
