Back to School with Crayola’s Silly Scents

Probably THE new coolest stationary line out right now is Crayola’s Silly Scents. You’ve probably heard of scented markers before, but what about scented crayons? Scented colored pencils? Seriously, I felt like a little kid again coloring with these.

I tested out the Silly Scents markers, colored pencils, and crayons with my niece. We decided to color some adult Ursula coloring pages.

My favorite was the colored pencils. They colored beautifully and still had a pretty strong smell.

I LOVE that they are no sharpen – you just twist up for more pencil. All colored pencils should be like this.

The smells in the color pencil pack are: Cherry, Fruit Punch, Orange, Lemon, Green Apple, Beach, Blueberry, Grape, Cotton Candy, Licorice, Coconut, and Root Beer.

My second favorite are the crayons. They also colored nicely, just like regular crayons.

Back to School with Crayola's Silly Scents The Silly Scent crayons come in two different sizes: 12 ct and a 24 ct. The 24 ct is technically a “mini” crayon, but they aren’t that much smaller.

The smells in the 24ct Silly Scent Crayons: Cherry, Strawberry, Cinnamon, Orange, Popcorn, Lemon, Banana, Lime, Watermelon, Green Apple, Pine, Ocean, Blueberry, Cola, Wild Berry, Grape, Fruit Smoothie, Fruit Punch, Cotton Candy, Licorice, Coconut, Fresh Air, Root Beer, and Flower.

The smells in the 12ct: Cherry, Orange, Lemon, Green Apple, Beach, Blueberry, Grape, Fruit Punch, Cotton Candy, Licorice, Coconut, and Root Beer.

My least favorite was the markers. They were super pigmented, which while good in some respects, not so good when you are trying to color an adult coloring page. By super pigmented, I mean the colors were really dark. You can see how dark the purple is in my picture below.

The Silly Scent markers come in three sizes: 6ct, 10ct, and 12ct.

The 12ct is a wedge tip and comes in the following smells: Cherry, Orange, Lemon, Green Apple, Fresh Air, Blueberry, Grape, Fruit Punch, Cotton Candy, Marshmallow, Coconut, and Root Beer

The 10ct are fine line markers that smell like Strawberry, Lemon, Lime, Watermelon, Fresh Air, Blueberry, Cotton Candy, Marshmallow, Root Beer, and Caramel.

The 6ct are also wedge tip markers and come in the smells of Cherry, Orange, Lemon, Green Apple, Blueberry, and Marshmallow.

What I like about the entire Silly Scents line is that the smells are instantly recognizable. I sat there sniffing the crayons/markers/color pencils for about 15 minutes. I probably looked ridiculous. But thats ok, I was having fun!

Did you or do you plan to buy any the Silly Scents line for your kid, or even yourself?
