Having a calendar is crucial when you are a college student. Every week there is something new due. How I am supposed to remember to write a paper and go out with a friend? I can’t without some organization.

I used to use my phone calendar. It works pretty well, but at the same time, I never check it. Even if it pops up on the pull down menu on my phone, that doesn’t mean it will register in my head. That’s why I love this Dooley magnetic dry erase board from Dorm Co. It is right in my face, so I can’t miss it!

It is a pretty simple item. It is an empty calendar that you fill in every month. What I like about this one compared to others is that it is framed. I’ve seen a lot that are just the white board. The frame makes it look a bit more classy.

The board comes with one dry erase marker and two magnets. While it is awesome that it is magnetic, I don’t really think I would use it. There isn’t anywhere that I could put something without covering part of the calendar up.

My big issue is that you can only use dry erase markers on here. All the dry erase boards I’ve used can be written on with both dry and wet erase markers. My wet erase markers wouldn’t stay solid and thick. It was strange. Dry erase markers work well though.

Since I only had wet erase markers, I decided to buy some more dry erase. I needed more than just black on my calendar! I went to Target and got them on sale for $2.50 each, and then I had a $1/1 coupon. You can’t beat $1.50 for a four pack of expo markers.

Because I’m lazy, I didn’t want to have to store the markers and take them out all the time. At first I wanted to attach them with magnets, but I couldn’t find any. So then I decided to go with velcro, because I had that in my craft box.

I put velcro on the board and on my markers. I tried just using the sticky tape to adhere the velcro to the markers, but it kept coming off. I ended up using nail glue to glue it to the markers. Why nail glue? Because I couldn’t find normal super glue. 🙂

Overall, I would recommend this Dooley dry erase board. It looks nice and works well.
