Worth it Wednesday: Tombox
*I received this product at a discount rate in order to give my honest and unbiased review.*
If you are female, it is very likely you have had a visit from “Aunt Flo” at least once in your life. Most of us will have a period for 30+ years. Yuck!
I hate having periods. But what makes it better? Presents. And chocolate, but that’s a given. 🙂
I recently was given the opportunity to review a “that time of the month” subscription box. It’s called Tombox. And it is super cool. Once a month you get a box full of goodies to help you get through the monthly hell week.
The first thing out of the box was some tampons. Not some shitty store brand, but Tampax Pearl. If you haven’t tried them, you really should. They are super easy to insert.
Next was makeup wipes. They are LaFresh Travel Lite oil free makeup remover wipes. I’m pretty sure I’ve seen these are CVS before, so when I run out I can easily pick up more. The wipes don’t have much of a smell. They worked really well to take off all my makeup I tried on.
Next to come out of the box was blush and a blush brush. The blush is a brand I’ve never heard up, Hikari. It looks more like a bronzer than a blush to me. But it goes on really easy with the brush that came with it. I have no idea what brand the brush is, which kind of sucks, because I couldn’t buy more if I wanted to. The brush is made of what I believe to be synthetic hair and feels pretty soft. Again, because I don’t know the brand, I can’t say for certain.
I also got a really pretty bottle of nail polish. It is called “Hermosa Beach” by Cult. Once again, I’ve never heard of this brand. But it is made in Cali, and that’s cool.
Another unknown brand, Be A Bombshell Cosmetics, came in my box. It is a clear lipgloss. It doesn’t have any real smell or taste. But it does make my lips very shiny, and that is all it really needs to do. Like the nail polish, it is made in the USA.
Then came the Joanne Vargas Daily Serum. Honestly, I have no idea what it is and why I should use it. It would have been nice to have a little info card that came with it. But I do have to say that it smells pretty good.
The last cosmetic item is a little sample of Escada perfume. It wasn’t full, and that is a bit of a let down. But the perfume smells really good. Very flowery.
I was excited to see more than just cosmetics in my box. In a cute little bag came a headband. I really like headbands, even if I don’t wear them in public often. It is braided “leather” material, with two rows. I really like it. It looks pretty cute in my hair.
The las item in the box were the prettiest little starfish earrings. I highly doubt they are real silver, but they look pretty nice for being fake. I switched out my hoops in my cartilage for them. I was only able to keep them in for about a week there before my ears started to kill me. They now reside in my upper holes, bottom ears. No issues with them there. But then again, my cartilage tends to hurt like a bitch with any earrings in them.
So a bit about the Tombox. Prices start at $10 a month. At this price is you don’t get any pads or tampons. Prices up go up if you choose to get sanitary supplies.
When you order a Tombox, you get to kind of personalize it. You have to take a quiz, asking about style, skin color, ect. You can also pick what kind of stuff you want, like earrings vs necklaces, fragrances vs cleansers, ect.
You can also buy items direct from their online store. Right now they have an eight piece mystery makeup box for under $9.
I definitely recommend trying a Tombox. You get a lot of stuff for only $10. In the winter months you even get a piece of candy. If you do decide to order, let me know in the comments! I would love to hear what you got.
