Take a Trip Back in Time with Circus 1903 – The Golden Age of Circus
*This post is sponsored in exchange for four free tickets*
Ahh, the circus. Almost everyone has a memory about the circus. The earliest one I can remember is when I went with my friend and there were tents everywhere. That’s all I remember. But still.
I have to admit, I am incredibly excited for my next circus experience. Like small child giddy excited. I get to go see CIRCUS 1903 – The Golden Age of Circus when it comes to The Fisher Theatre in Detroit! The show will be at The Fisher between March 14-19, 2017.
Part of why I’m so excited about seeing this circus, and what makes it so different and new, is that they have animal….puppets. Now, I’m not talking Elmo here. These puppets are giant. They bring elephants “back in the ring” with an African elephant and her baby. These puppets appear throughout the show with mommy teaching baby how to be a circus elephant.
But there is more to CIRCUS 1903 – The Golden Age of Circus than elephants. The amazing performers consist of “strong men to contortionists, acrobats to musicians, knife throwers, high wire and much more!” The first act has trucks, props, and rigging, while the second has a ten, flagpoles, and more rigging. The costumes have been created to look like authentic “turn-of-the-century” circus outfits from the 1900’s.
What is cool about CIRCUS 1903 – The Golden Age of Circus is that it is for everyone. So you can take your awesome five-year-old niece and your parents!
