Worth it Wednesday: Sunshine Crate Review
My new series, Worth it Wednesday! I will review an item and let you know if it is worth the money or if it’s a waste. This week’s victim is Sunshine Crate.
Does anyone get subscription boxes? I think they are the coolest things ever. It’s like a present every month! And usually whatever is in it is a surprise. So yes, exactly like a present!
I recently got the opportunity to try a Sunshine Crate. I got four different items: two shirts, a dress, and a necklace/earring set. For a four piece box, it costs $50, or $12.50 a piece. They also have a six item crate, which costs $85, or about $15 a piece.
What I like about the Sunshine Crate is that you can personalize your boxes. If you don’t wear something or have a favorite color, you can mention that. All the boxes are hand packed, by the owners mom, who is fighting breast cancer! Talk about helping your kid with their dreams. But every box has a personal touch, and I really like that.
So on to the review! My Sunshine Crate came in a standard packaging envelop. I was a bit disappointed that it wasn’t actually a crate, but whatevs. The contents inside were wrapped in a pretty purple tissue paper. It really was like opening a present.
The first item was the pineapple top. I really wasn’t sure what I thought of it at first. If you know me personally, you know that I am a plain jane cotton t-shirt type girl.
But I was determined to keep an open mind. While it is a bit wild, I actually really like it. It is super comfortable. It is a bit thin, so a plain bra is required. Or a light tank underneath.
The next was the pink flowered shirt. I immediately thought it was adorable. The back is so pretty. It has a little tie which gives it a very feminine look.
The shirt is a bit tight on me. I’m 99% sure it’s the boobs. If I lose a bit of weight, I think it will fit much nicer. Still, I think it is very pretty.
The last clothing piece was the dress. It is very, very wild. I really only started wearing prints, and only on my pants. It is made of cotton, which means comfort, so I was willing to give it a try.
Again, the boobs are an issue. The woes of being a well endowed female. But, I was right: the dress is very comfortable. It is a bit short for me, so I wouldn’t wear it anywhere I would be moving around a lot. I would be mortified if my undies showed in public.
The final part of the Sunshine Crate is the necklace/earring set. It is incredibly cute. It has a bird, “M” and a leaf on it, all held together by a mock safety pin.
The necklace came with little dangly earrings. While they are plain, I think they look pretty on.
Overall, I’m quite pleased with the Sunshine Crate. The clothes are a bit wild, but I like them. Gives me something different in my closet, other than my t-shirts and crazy pants.
To order the next Sunshine Crate, visit the website. A new box is released about 2-3 weeks apart. The owner even mentioned a cat themed crate coming up. CAT! If you do order, make sure to come back and let me know what you got!
