Shoplet Westcott Scissors Review
*I was given these for free in exchange for my honest and unbiased review*
For as long as I can remember, my mom and I have always been at odds with each other about one thing: scissors. My mom sews and she never wants me to use her sewing scissors on paper. Which, as an adult, I totally understand. As a kid, not so much. If I needed to cut something, I just picked the closest pair of scissors. I didn’t think, oh, I bet these are mom’s sewing scissors. I just thought, scissors = cut.
Now I’m a bit better about not grabbing scissors out of her sewing cabinet to use for my random crafting. In order to kind of make up for my childhood scissor use, I agreed to review these awesome scissors by Westcott, from Shoplet.
A bit about Shoplet:
They are the #1 e-tailer of business and office supplies.
They sell many different brands, from higher quality Westcott to normal quality like Fiskars.
So, back to the scissors. These things are EPIC. They are made of “CarboTitanium blade-bonding technology.” Honestly, no idea what that means but it sounds impressive. My favorite part is that they can cut through multiple layers of fabric, cardboard, canvas, etc.
I decided to test them out by cutting my patterns out for my hopefully super cool Doctor Who coat. I forgot to take pictures, mostly because I was worried about A) cutting them right and B) not stabbing myself on the pins while I cut. You can see my pattern ready to cut in the background. But you can see how they have the extra comfort pads.
I hate when I have just those plastic scissors that hurt your fingers if you cut too much. They fit in my hand perfect, which is a plus.
You can see that the blades are small, but man did they cut. You know how some scissors only cut right by the handles and the bottom of the scissors, where they come to a point, cuts nothing? Not these. They cut all the way down.
Overall, I am very impressed with these scissors. I am going to try my hardest to never use these on paper. Hopefully, I don’t forget!
