Fab Five: Cat Edition

You may or may not know (but you should by now) that I have a cat. Her name is Ursula, and she is the love of my life. She is my little baby.

As my baby, I need to get her things. Which unsurprisingly to my mother, I did. She thinks that me buying her more toys and beds is dumb because she would much rather play with the amazon box the toy comes in rather than the actual toy. And while that is true, I don’t have a human baby to spoil, so I might as well spoil my kitty!

This week’s Fab Five Friday is all about cat products. Ursula has personally tested all of these items out.

Kitty Lounger Mini

I LOVE THIS. It is so incredibly easy to set up and my cat really likes laying on it.
It came in three parts, but five pieces. Two long wood pieces and two short ones, plus the cover. They fit all together like a puzzle. The hammock part slips right on the edges.Fab Five Friday: Cat Edition on Stingy, Thrifty, Broke!
What I really like about the kitty lounger is that the fabric part is removable. It is such a pain to try to clean cat items that don’t come apart. I can just easily take this off and toss it in the wash.

Ursula really likes the lounger. When I first set it up, my dogs were really interested in it. She chased them off and laid in it all day. When Ursula went upstairs, my little dog Ellie ran over to steal the seat.

Mice Hit and Hide Track Toy

Fab Five Friday: Cat Edition on Stingy, Thrifty, Broke!

Ursula is a fan of this hit and hide toy. I think it is because she has had one almost just like it. It has a mouse that “runs” around in a circle. The cat just has to tap it and it moves pretty quick around. The top can be used as a scratcher, although Ursula is declawed so she doesn’t use it for that. She likes to sit on the top, look down, and hit the mouse as it comes around. She is a silly goose like that.

My only issue is mouse itself. The tail is pretty weak. It started ripping off after a couple of good paws by Ursula. I honestly think I am going to clip the tail right off so she wont get it off and decide she needs to eat it. Or gets it off and tries to feed it to my dogs.

Overall, Ursula really loves this toy (when she is in the mood to play with something other than feet and invisible toys.) It does great to keep her busy instead of knocking things off the table.

Shedding Hair Remover Brush

I first have to say, this brush seems very, very cheap. It looks cheap, especially the part that you press to get the hair off. BUT, it works great. Fabulous even.

To use it, you brush your animal like you normally would. I used it on my dogs, because they have longer hair, but I will use it on my cat once her hair has grown back out (I shaved her).Fab Five Friday: Cat Edition on Stingy, Thrifty, Broke! Fab Five Friday: Cat Edition on Stingy, Thrifty, Broke!

Once hair has gotten all in the brush and off the animal, you press up on the little front button. This button lifts a piece up that moves all the hair to the top of the brush. It makes it so easy to clean the brush off, and it only takes a few seconds.

I was really unsure when I first pulled this toy out of the box. It comes in three pieces and you do have to attach it together and insert the balls (ha.)
Once attached, it is pretty sturdy. The balls can come out, but unless your cat is crazy strong, it probably won’t get them out. It really needs a human hand to pull them out of each section.

I had to push the balls around a couple of times before she started playing with it. Once she realized it was yet another toy for her, she laid on her back and just kept hitting all the balls as they came around. Lazy cat.

I LOVE this shark costume. Ursula, not so much. Honestly, it is adorable.

It is very fluffy and soft. It is definitely not a summer outfit. It would probably keep me warm if I tried to wear it. The inside is so incredibly soft though.

Fab Five Friday: Cat Edition on Stingy, Thrifty, Broke! It was pretty easy to put on Ursula. It snaps together on the bottom, the belly part. I did have to flip her over, which she wasn’t a fan of, but it was the only way to insure the snaps were secure.Fab Five Friday: Cat Edition on Stingy, Thrifty, Broke! She couldn’t get out of it, which made me happy. Although dad did take pity on her and took it off. Sucker.
