Back to School Shopping Tips for Big Lots
Big Lots isn’t the first place I think of when I hear back to school shopping. My mom and I go to BL, but usually just when we are looking to get something random for cheap.
I actually just recently learned of an extra way to save at Big Lots: price matching! Here are some tips to remember when you price match.
- You must show proof in form of a photo or an ad
- You cannot pm from amazon, or anywhere online that doesn’t have a physical store. Walmart.com, for example, you CAN pm.
- You can’t pm from a zip code online other than your own. For example, I can’t show an online price for a Lowes in California, only Michigan.
- All pms are manager discretion.
Big Lots also has coupons! They don’t take manufacture coupons (boo), but they will put out their own store coupons. They usually aren’t super high value, only like 20% off. But hey, 20% is 20%.
Big Lots doesn’t have a huge selection of school supplies. My local store only had two rows. The prices are about average for non-sale prices.
They do however have a nice selection of dorm stuff. They don’t have all the random little extra junk, like say, Target, has. But they do have the basics. Most important, they have bedding sets. If you’ve been following this series, you know I have an undying love for bed sets.
Check out the rest of the stuff my local Big Lots had!
Look at all the hangers! Normal hangers, velvet hangers, scarf hangers, belt hangers. Hanger hangers. 🙂
Pillows you don’t need but will buy anyways. Notice the signage hanging on it showing the workers how to set it up. Classy.
Not a bed in a bag, but a reversable comforter.
More storage! I really wanted all the purple stuff. It would look great in my room if I had places for it.
I love over the door hangers. They work great for towels and such in the bathroom.
Lights! Make sure you check your dorm’s rules about hanging lights before you buy them. I know when I lived at school, my dorm wasn’t a fan of it.
