Seven Shark Movies to Watch After Shark Week
Shark Week is half way over. I love Shark Week. I enjoy learning, and sharks eat people, and that is pretty cool. We are top of the food chain… most of the time.
So what happens when Shark Week is over? Watch shark movies of course! I’ve complied a list of my favorite shark movies. They are in no order, simply because Sharknado is on here and it is awful but I still like to watch it. And I have no idea how to rank that.
Ah, the classic. If you have never seen Jaws, stop what you are doing and go watch it. At work? I’m sure it is on the internet somewhere. At home with the kids? Nap time for them, Jaws time for you.
There is just so much good with Jaws. The classic ba bum, ba bum theme. The acting. The need for a bigger boat. And of course the great white that purposefully goes after specific humans.
Deep Blue Sea
Imagine if scientists decided to do some testing on shark brains and make them a bit smarter. Those smart sharks wouldn’t be too happy about being experiments.
I actually think this movie is a bit scarier than Jaws. I like it because like Jaws, the sharks are after specific people. Because of course that is how it works.
Soul Surfer is kind of a shark movie. More of a personal, over coming fear, type of movie. Based on a true story, a surfer girl gets her arm bit off by a shark. She has to learn how to live with one arm and how to continue living life to the fullest. It is a family movie, so you can watch it with the kids.
What if sharks were vicious evil creatures that bit everything that moved? What if those sharks were picked up and then tossed about by a tornado? Then you’d get Sharknado.
Don’t watch this movie expecting good acting, a believable story line or realistic effects. It is one of those movies that is so awful, it is kind of good. It reminds me of the saying about how you can’t help but watch a train wreck.
Watch Sharknado. Now imagine Sharknado, but somehow even worse. That is Sharknado 2. There are some good cameos though. And most of those celebs end up dying. If my dad actually would watch that movie, it would probably be his favorite part or it.
Malibu Shark Attack
This is another SyFy original movie, which automatically means it is not going to be awesome. The acting kind of sucks, but I like the plot line. Goblin sharks, which were thought to be extinct, come to Malibu to eat everyone. The main characters, like a bunch of idiots, decide to hide in a hut on the beach. A lot of the characters die, which makes the movie bearable.
Shark Tale is a kids movie about a lying fish and a scardy-cat shark. It is definitely a cute movie and stars voices from Will Smith, Robert De Niro, Renee Zellweger, Jack Black, Angelina Jolie, and more. It is a good kids movie, with not many scary parts.
